Henderson staying with Warriors

Hooker Ian Henderson has signed a two-year extension to his rugby league contract with the New Zealand Warriors, keeping him in Auckland until the end of the 2011 season.

The English-born, Australian-raised Scotland international is in his second year with the Warriors, having played 34 straight games for the club.

Coach Ivan Cleary says 26-year-old Henderson has been one of the club's best signings, he's an aggressive footballer with plenty of cheek about him.

Henderson's signing continues the Warriors' retention programme which has seen them re-sign Jerome Ropati, Simon Mannering, Lance Hohaia and Steve Price of the NRL squad's experienced players while last weekend utility back Patrick Ah Van, halfback-hooker Aaron Heremaia and 2008 Vodafone Junior Warriors halfback Isaac John were also re-signed.
