The former New Zealand lock Chris Jack will play for Western Province during the second half of this year after signing a short-term deal with the South African union.

Last month the 67 test veteran re-signed with the NZRU until 2011 and his move to Cape Town comes after two seasons with Saracens in London.

Western Provinces' managing director Rob Wagner has told the newspaper Die Burger Jack will play in the Currie Cup from the 1st of until the end of October.

It's understood he'll return to the Crusaders next year.

Another former All Black Tony Brown played for Western Province in last year's Currie Cup.
