Forty points from the Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant have helped his side to a 105-103 home win over the Denver Nuggets in game one of the National Basketball Association's best of seven western conference final .
The Nuggets led by 13 late in the first half and were ahead until late in the final quarter when Bryant scored six points from the free throw line.
Carmelo Anthony scored 39 points for the Nuggets.
Orlando and Cleveland start the eastern conference final tomorrow.
