The England batsman Kevin Pietersen will miss the one-day cricket series against the West Indies because of an Achilles tendon injury in his right leg.
Pietersen says the injury is likely to heal in time for the Ashes series against Australia starting in July and next month's World Twenty20.
The first of the three one-day internationals against the West Indies is at Headingley tonight with the other two matches scheduled for Sunday and next Tuesday.
The World Twenty20 begins on June 5th while the Ashes series starts in Cardiff on July 8th.
