The North Harbour basketball team made no race of their Battle of the Bridge in the National Basketball League beating Auckland 88-71 at the North Shore Events Centre.
Corey Webster top scored with 25 points, while his North Harbour team-mate made 22.
The win for the Heat guarantees them a spot in the play-offs, while the Stars loss puts them in a precarious position of joining the already eliminated Taranaki in missing out on the 2009 play-Offs.
With one spot up for grabs in the top six Hawkes Bay look to have the inside running and will be hoping to get a win over the Christchurch Cougars tonight.
Also tonight Waikato play Taranaki.
