A man has been arrested and charged following an assault on a referee after an National Rugby League match in Sydney.
The 25-year-old is alleged to have climbed a perimeter fence and run onto the ground just after a match between the West Tigers and Brisbane Broncos at Campbelltown Stadium on Friday.
Police allege he tackled one of the referees from behind as the match referees were leaving the ground from the southwestern side of the stadium.
The 34-year-old referee was not injured.
