Mixed second day in Poland for NZ paddlers

The New Zealand kayakers Steven Ferguson and Erin Taylor have finished fifth and fourth respectively in their K1 500 finals at the World Cup regatta in Poznan, Poland.

The K2 500 men of Troy Burbidge and Scott Bicknell continued their good early form and missed a spot in the A final by only 300ths of a second.

The women's K2 500 combination of Lisa Carrington and Teneale Hatton turned in a stand-out performance in their first senior World Cup competition to secure an A final spot.

Ferguson also battled through for a fourth place and B final position in the the K1000 semi finals while Taylor secured an A final berth with a good second.

The men's K2 1000 paddled a great race, coming back over the last 250 metres to sneak past Australia for an A Final place, while the women made the B final.
