Carter into light jogging before coming home

The All Black first-five Daniel Carter could be on his way home within a week or two, unless his Perpignan club makes the Top 14 final in France.

Although Carter's Achilles tendon injury in January cut short his playing career with Perpignan, he's been helping coach the backs in recent weeks after getting rid of his moonboot and returning to light jogging.

Perpignan finished the regular season in first and play Stade Francais this weekend with Toulouse playing Clermont in the other semi-final.

Carter says after six months out of the game he can't expect to go straight back into international rugby.

He says he never takes his position for granted and he'll have to earn his spot, but if all goes well with his return he hopes to be back playing in Europe at the end of the year - only this time for the All Blacks.
