Kimberley Smith wins top London road race

The New Zealand runner Kimberley Smith has won the prestigious London 10,000-metre road race.

The 27-year-old Olympic Games finalist shot to the lead from the start leaving the rest of the field including Beijing Olympic Games marathon champion Constantina Dita of Romania strung out behind.

Smith finished in The Mall in 31 minutes 38 seconds, more than two minutes ahead of Hatti Dean of Great Britain with Dita third.
