New Dragons signing Nathan Fien says the lure of a black jersey was definItely a factor in his decision to stay in the National Rugby League.
The 29-year-old Fien has signed a three-year deal with St george Illawarra from next season, after being told by the Warriors last week he wouldn't be offered a new contract.
The World Cup winning halfback says he's enjoyed playing for the Kiwis and is hoping that will continue.
Fiens says if he'd gone to England he'd have been out of sight, out of mind of the selectors, especially for the Anzac Tests.
And Fien says he was flattered when he found out the Dragons coach Wayne Bennett wanted to sign him up.
Fien says while he didn't want to leave Auckland, it's good to have his future secured and he's looking forward to playing under Bennett.
