The Cronulla Sharks controversial chairman Barry Pierce has been re-elected unopposed and honoured with a life membership despite being in charge through a series of crises at the club.
Pierce has been under intense scrutiny since details of a 2002 sex scandal in Christchurch were revealed by an ABC television programme earlier this month.
But while Pierce kept his job, members voted in three new board representatives.
