Baker-Finch back on tour

12:54 pm on 31 May 2009

The Australian golf commentator Ian Baker-Finch has got down from his tower for the moment to play in a PGA tour event.

The former NZ Open and British Open champion gave the game away in disgust when he shot 92 in the opening round of the 1997 British Open, but he posted a 68 in the opening round of the Colonial Invitational in Texas, a tournament he won 20 years ago.

The 48-year-old Baker-Finch has never stopped playing as such, and it's thought he might be considering a career on the Champions Tour when he turns 50.
