The Southern Steel have moved into the top four in the trans Tasman netball competition after beating the Central Pulse 66-44 in Wellington.
The Steel have now won five and lost three. The Pulse have yet to win a game.
The first eight rounds of the competition have mainly seen New Zealand sides playing other New Zealand teams, but from next week the New Zealand teams regularly front up to Australian teams.
The Steels meet the West Coast Fever in Perth next weekend.
Scorers for the Steel were Daneka Wipiiti 31, Donna Wilkins and 26 Julianna Naoupu 9.
Pulse scoreres were Paula Griffin 28, Te Amo Amaru-Tibble and 12 and Jamilah Gupwell four.
