Perpignan has beaten Stade Francais 25-21 to set up a Top 14 rugby play-off final against Clermont next week.

Perpignan, the club All Black Dan Carter played for, outscored the Parisian club three tries to two, full-back Jerome Porical claiming 15 points for the Catalans, who have not won the French championship since 1955.

Carter has been helping with coaching of the side since he was injured.

They will now play Clermont, 19-9 winners over Toulouse on Saturday, in the final at the Stade de France on June 6.

Former Australian league star Mark Gasnier was in the losing Stade Francais side.
