Christchurch triathlete Andrea Hewitt has won the women's World Championship Series race in Madrid in a photo finish.
Hewitt was judged to have finished just centimetres ahead of Lisa Norden of Sweden.
New Zealand's top ranked triathlete Sam Warriner fought back from a poor swim to finish in 7th place, and Nicky Samuels of Wanaka was 14th.
