World champion Tyson Gay and former world record holder Asafa Powell could sqaure off in the 100 metres clash at next week's Prefontaine Classic meet in Oregon.

Jamaican Powell is entered in the meeting, and American Gay is considering it after running the third-fastest 200 metres of all time, 19.58 seconds, at the weekend in New York.

Gay strained a hamstring in the 200 metres preliminaries at the U.S. Olympic trials last year and then failed to make the 100 metres final in Beijing.
