Price to return to Warriors but Ah Van out injured

11:34 am on 3 June 2009

The Warriors skipper Steve Price is set to become the most capped State of Origin forward when he turns out for Queensland in this year's rugby league opener against New South Wales in Melbourne tonight.

It'll be his 26th appearance for Queensland and will give him the record, which he currently shares with Bob Lindner, outright.

Price will also re-join the Warriors for their NRL encounter against Cronulla in Sydney on Sunday.

Meanwhile Aidan Kirk has been called into to the Warriors side to replace injured centre Patrick Ah Van, who suffered a hamstring strain in the side's win over the Wests Tigers at the weekend.

Kirk, has played in three NRL games this season.

Sunday's match against Cronulla will also be Stacey Jones' 249th NRL appearance, leaving him in line to become the club's first player to reach the 250 mark, when the Warriors face Newcastle at Mount Smart Stadium on Friday next week.
