NSW desperate to snap losing streak in Origin

11:35 am on 3 June 2009

Game one of rugby league's State of Origin kicks off tonight in Melbourne with New South Wales desperate not to lose an unprecedented fourth straight series.

In the recent Anzac Test, the Queensland backline scored all the points for Australia and their forward pack's not too bad either with the likes of Petero Cinivoceva and Steve Price.

But Price says his Queensland side still have to beat a very good team and the Blues will field a team full of players from the recent Test side that thrashed the Kiwis.

The Warriors skipper is set to become the most capped rugby league forward in State of Origin history tonight.

It'll be his 26th appearance for Queensland and will give him the record, which he currently shares with Bob Lindner, outright.

But Price says it's just a proud moment when you pull on your first Maroons jersey and he hasn't given the achievement much thought.
