The Australian women's cricket team will head into the World Twenty20 tournament in England full of confidence after scoring a series-clinching 32-run victory over New Zealand.

Australia grabbed a 2-1 trans-Tasman series triumph at Allan Border Field in Brisbane after making 124 for six from their 20 overs before bowling out the White Ferns for 92.

New Zealand, who won the opening match in the three-game battle, struggled throughout the chase after losing both openers to be 17 for two after five overs.

Australia fly to England tonight and will start their World Twenty20 campaign with another match against the White Ferns on June 12th at Taunton.
