Italy's football coach Marcello Lippi has finalised an imposing 23-man squad for Thursday's friendly against New Zealand, and the Confederations Cup tournament which follows.

The world cup winning manager had already selected 13 established names who are being rested for this weekends friendly against Northern Ireland, but has now confirmed the remaining spots.

Among those likely to line-up against the All Whites on Thursday morning are Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon, defender Fabio Cannavaro and AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

Villerreal's former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Ross is also among the players named, alongside Liverpool's left back Andrea Dossena.
