The Central Pulse board has confirmed the appointment of Yvette McCausland-Durie as head coach for next season in netball's ANZ Championship and also announced Bridget Abernethy as the new chief executive .

Although the Pulse have still to win a match in the trans-Tasman championship the chairman Nigel Kirkpatrick says McCausland-Durie has done a lot in the short time she's been with the team.

Kirkpatrick says she's shown a strong aptitude for developing players and creating a great team environment so they have absolute faith in her ability to build a competitive team for next year.

McCausland-Durie says she's thrilled to have her role renewed so they can build on this year's experiences and put together the most competitive team they can next year.

Bridget Abernethy has been working for the Pulse in a marketing and sponsorship role and takes over as chief executive on July 1.
