The New Zealand women's archery team has caused a major upset and won the gold medal at the World Cup event in Turkey.

It's the first time New Zealand has entered a team in a World Cup meeting.

Lindy Lainchbury, Mandy McGregor and Ann Mitchell were all competing at their first major International event.

Lainchbury, along with two male archers Steven Clifton and Shaun Teasdale, has also made the quarter finals of the individual shoot.
