Sharks make it two in a row

7:48 am on 8 June 2009

The Warriors conceded three first half tries to Cronulla as the Sharks fought their way off the bottom of the National Rugby League ladder with an 18-10 home win.

It's the first time Sharks have had back-to-back wins this season.

The Warriors got their first try just before halftime when a Stacey Jones kick found Manu Vatuvei unmarked and the big winger grabbed his 50th career try.

A try to Lewis Brown in the 47th minute closed the gap again as the Warriors threatened a comeback.

But the Sharks held on with some desperate defence to relegate the Sydney Roosters to the bottom of the ladder.

They looked full of confidence and sporting a new attitude after beating Parramatta last week to end a run of nine successive defeats.
