Warriors stumble as Sharks swim off bottom spot

7:49 am on 8 June 2009

The Warriors have slipped to 12th on the National Rugby League standings after losing at Cronulla.

The Sharks are off the bottom after they beat the Warriors 18-10 at home for their first back to back win all season.

The three-tries-to-two victory was Cronulla's second win at home this season and just their third victory of 2009 after breaking a nine-match losing streak against Parramatta last weekend.

It's a huge relief for the troubled side, whose season's been marred by on and off-field incidents. They leapfrog the Roosters into 15th.

St George Illawarra will stay top after the last game of round 13 tonight no matter what the result of their visit to Gold Coast in the Monday night match.

The Bulldogs are second and Brisbane third on goal difference, with all three top sides locked on 18 points.

Melbourne are fourth, a point back.

The Titans round out the top eight and will also stay there regardless of the outcome tonight. They're three points above South Sydney.
