The New Zealand Warriors captain Steve Price has been stood down as a precautionary measure after one of the Queensland State of Origin rugby league players contracted the H1N1 influenza virus.

The entire squad which played the opening match in Melbourne last week has been quarantined after forward Ben Hannant picked up the virus.

Gold Coast Titans forward Ashley Harrison and St George Illawara winger Darius Boyd were also stood down by the League from Monday night's NRL match.

Price, who played against the Sharks on Sunday, was told to stay at home until Tuesday, along with one of the Warriors trainers, Craig Walker.
