The Irish flanker Stephen Ferris will be replaced by Welshman Ryan Jones for the rest of the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa after injuring his knee.
A scan confirmed that Ferris had torn a ligament in his right knee during training and he will be out for up to six weeks.
Jones was a Lions replacement on the 2005 tour to New Zealand.
Coach Ian McGeechan says he was on the standby reserve list and has been playing for Wales over the last few weeks in the USA and Canada.
