Vettori in doubt for South Africa match

8:24 am on 9 June 2009

A decision on whether captain Daniel Vettori will play in tomorrow morning's Twenty20 world cup match against South Africa at Lord's will be made just before play.

Vettori missed the opening win over Scotland and a scan today has revealed a small tear in his bowling shoulder.

With New Zealand already gaurenteed a place in the Super Eights, there is a chance that Vettori won't be risked.

Meanwhile pace bowler Kyle Mills, who also missed the opening match, has been bowling in the nets and coach Andy Moles says there is a chance he too will be kept back for the second stage of the tournament.
