The Canterbury lock Isaac Ross will make his All Black Test debut against France in Dunedin on Saturday night, with Bryn Evans and Tanerau Latimer also in line to make their first Test starts.
Ross will partner Crusaders team-mate Brad Thorn at lock.
Hawkes Bay lock Evans and Bay of Plenty flanker Latimer have been named in the reserves.
With Richie McCaw and Rodney So'oialo unavailable through injury, fullback Mils Muliaina will become the 64th All Black captain.
Josevata Rokocoko and Rudi Wulf are on the wings, with Isaia Toeava and Ma'a Nonu in the midfield.
Stephen Donald is at first five and Jimmy Cowan at halfback.
The loose forward trio is Liam Messam, Kieran Read and Adam Thomson while the front row is Tony Woodcock, Andrew Hore and Neemia Tialata.
The reserves are: Keven Mealamu, John Afoa, Bryn Evans, Tanerau Latimer, Piri Weepu, Luke McAlister and Cory Jane.
