Black Caps one run short in last pool match

The New Zealand cricketers have been beaten by South Africa in their final pool match at the Twenty20 World Cup, a low-scoring thriller at Lord's in London.

Captain for the day Brendon McCullum decided to field first and the Black Caps did well to restrict South Africa to 128 for seven.

McCullum then led the way with 57 off 54 balls, but with his dismissal in the 17th over, New Zealand ran out of steam despite being only four wickets down, and needing 15 off the last over they came up one run short.

Both teams had already qualified for the second round.
