Tour de France riders to face anti-doping army

11:34 am on 11 June 2009

Potential drugs cheats on next month's Tour de France will face the biggest anti-doping army ever seen at a major sports event.

The warning came from the International Cycling Union's president Pat McQuaid after he officially welcomed the French National Anti Doping Agency back to the race.

McQuaid believes their improved relations, and combined efforts in fighting doping in the sport, will leave potential cheats with a huge dilemma.

Even before the race the entire peloton will undergo drug tests, and 50 of the top riders will come in for special attention.
