Cricket Australia withdraw contract offer to Symonds

Cricket Australia's withdrawn its contract offer to troubled allrounder Andrew Symonds and added injury-prone speedster Shaun Tait to its top 25 player list.

Cricket Australia chief operations manager Michael Brown says they've informed Symonds that his contract offer, which would have begun on July 1st, has been withdrawn following his latest alcohol-related indiscretion this month in England.

Brown says Symonds would still be clear to play in Australia and he's hopeful the 34-year-old would continue to play for Queensland in the domestic competition.

However Queensland Cricket haven't offered him a contract either.
