Jones says milestone will mean nothing unless they win

6:42 pm on 12 June 2009

The Warriors legend Stacey Jones is playing down his 250th National Rugby League appearance for the club tonight in Auckland.

Jones says the milestone will mean little if they don't come away with a win.

He says the side desperately needs a win, 250 games counts for little.

The Warriors are 12th, three places outside the top eight at the halfway point of the competition.

They've won just two of their last ten games and now need to win more than half of those left to make the cut.

With Newcastle in eighth spot and the Warriors having a bye next week coach Ivan Cleary admits tonight's game takes on even more significance.

Warriors skipper Steve Price has been forced to sit out training this week due to the State of Origin swine flu quarantine, but will still make the game.
