Football Federation Australia says reports that Socceroo Tim Cahill was ejected from a Sydney nightclub for being drunk are untrue.
The FFA says it has spoken to Cahill and other players who were at the Kings Cross nightclub on Friday morning after the Australian Football Awards.
It says Cahill left the venue when it closed, along with the other patrons.
The Socceroos play Japan in their final World Cup qualifier in Melbourne on Wednesday night, and this afternoon the FFA officially launches its bid to host the tournament in 2018.
