New Zealand Cricket chairman Chris Moller and several directors have announced they're standing down amidst a revamp of the organisation's constitution.
Moller has been on the board for five years, serving three of those as chairman.
His recent difficulties have included the appopintment wake of Mike Hesson's appointment as Black Caps coach and his subsequent sacking of Ross Taylor as captain.
That led to calls for more former international players to be involved in the governance of the sport.
Moller says he belives it's in the best interest of cricket in New Zealand for a new Chairman to be inducted into the International Cricket Council during the tenure of New Zealander Alan Isaac as President.
The other current Board members not seeking re-election are Bill Francis, Sir John Hansen and Therese Walsh.
At a Special General Meeting, New Zealand Cricket members voted unanimously to adopt a new Constitution which revamps the process for appointing board members.
Board members will now be elected by New Zealand members following a selection and recommendation process run by an independent appointments panel.
Moller will stay on as chairman until the appointment of a new Board in September.
