Rudisha out of Worlds

In another blow to athletics' World Championships, Kenya's Olympic 800 metres champion and world record-holder David Rudisha has withdrawn from next month's event in Moscow - and his whole season could be over.

Rudisha's participation had been in doubt because of a slow-healing knee injury sustained while running in New York's Central Park.

His manager James Templeton says Rudisha is disappointed not to be able to defend his world title.

Rudisha joins the American sprinter Tyson Gay in pulling out of the world championships, though Gay's gone for returning a positive drugs test, rather than injury.
