Nadal seeded one for Wimbledon

The defending champion Rafael Nadal will be the top seed in the men's singles at the Wimbledon tennis tournament this year, ahead of the French Open and five-times Wimbledon champion Roger Federer.

Neither man has played a tournament since the French Open with Federer taking time out after his exhilarating but exhausting win in Paris, and Nadal has been having treatment for tendonitis in his knees.

Nadal has agreed to test his fitness for Wimbledon in two exhibition matches at the Hurlingham club in London on Friday night.

The world number one Dinara Safina is the top women's seed ahead of Serena Williams, the reigning Australian Open champion.
