The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic are back on top of netball's trans Tasman championship after a hard fought 50-46 win over the Canterbury Tactix in Rotorua.
Irene Van Dyk shot 94 percent for the Magic who lead with 20 points ahead of the Melbourne Vixens on percentage with the Adelaide Thunderbirds third on 18.
The Queensland Firebirds move to fourth on 12 points ahead of the Southern Steel on percentage after beating them 52-50 in Brisbane.
With just three rounds to play the match was virtually a knockout encounter.
The West Coast Fever are sixth on 10 , two clear of the Canterbury Tactix with the Northern Mystics on six, the New South Wales Swifts four and the Central Pulse still winless,
