New Zealand Hockey's promising young Black Sticks women's side has been given the licence to develop their flair against two of the world's best sides in five tests early next month.

The Black Sticks, who's average age is 21, play the world's second ranked side Argentina three times and fourth-ranked China twice in their first official test series since the Olympics in Beijing.

The Argentina series starts on July 3 and finishes three days later with matches in Whangarei and Pukekohe while the matches against China are in Hamilton and Pukekohe on July 7 and 8.

The Black Sticks scored 15 goals and conceded four in last week's 3-0 series win against an understrength Indian side,

Coach Mark Hager says he's impressed with their aggressive attitude on attack and wants to see more.

Several experienced, including strikers Kayla Sharland and Honor Dillon, are back after not being available for the India series
