6:52 am on 26 June 2009

The All Whites' will play their World Cup qualifier in Wellington in November.

New Zealand Football has chosen Westpac Stadium to host the New Zealand leg of the home and away tie against the 5th placed Asian team on November 14th.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will play-off for the right to then meet New Zealand with the winner qualifying for next year's finals in South Africa.

New Zealand Football received formal bids from three venues - Westpac Stadium, North Harbour Stadium and Waikato Stadium - to host New Zealand's home game, but NZF CEO Michael Glading says player preference and Westpac's extra capacity ultimately gave it the edge over North Harbour Stadium, which has built a reputation as the home of football

since 1997.

Ticket sales are likely to go on sale by the end of July and Glading is confident of filling the stadium.
