Crowds still stay away from AMI Stadium

The Canterbury Rugby Union is hoping for a large walkup crowd for tonight's test between the All Blacks and Italy at AMI Stadium.

Just 16 and a half thousand tickets have been sold, 10 thousand short of capacity while redevelopment work is in progress.

The New Zealand Rugby Union has expressed its concern about future hosting of tests in the city following a number of All Black matches failing to sell out in recent years.

Canterbury CEO Hamish Riach (ree-ak) says he's sure the fans will return when the stadium is completed in December....
