The Wellington-based Central Pulse have finally opened their account in the ANZ netball championship after 25 matches.
In a closely fought match throughout in Porirua last night, the Pulse pipped the defending champion New South Wales Swifts 53-52.
In Perth yesterday, the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic became the first New Zealand team to win a match across the Tasman, beating West Coast Fever 49-38 to maintain a two-point lead over the Melbourne Vixens who play the Canterbury Tactix tonight.
The Southern Steel are at home tonight against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
