New Zealand's top supercross rider, Ben Townley, will take on Australia's dual world champion, Chad Reed, at New Zealand's first supercross event in Hamilton's Waikato Stadium on November 21.
Reed's the most successful supercross rider from Australasia and hasn't raced in New Zealand since becoming world champion for the first time in 2003.
Townley is one of New Zealand's most successful supercross and motocross exports with 12 national titles and a number of top level achievements in Europe and America. including the MX2 FIM Motocross World championship
Injuries and surgery kept him from competing last year and the start of this year but he says he's weeks away from resuming training .
Townley says it'll be good to have a home crowd behind him with organisers expecting more than 15,000 people to attend.
