Dixon disappointed not to win but happy to be top

Scott Dixon's happy neither of the two main rivals for his IndyCar motor racing crown won the latest race in New York and that he's back in the lead in the series standings.

But the New Zealand driver's frustrated he couldn't do better than third.

Title rival Ryan Briscoe was runner-up at Watkins Glen behind the winner, Englishman Justin Wilson, so Dixon's now 19 points ahead of Briscoe, who's tied for second with Dario Franchitti, Dixon's team-mate.

Franchitti finished 15th in the race.

Dixon congratulated Wilson for his victory, which gave team owner Dale Coyne his first win in 25 years as a driver and owner.

The next round is in Toronto.
