Danny Lee's had his first top 10 finish as a professional on the US PGA golf tour.

The Rotorua teenager's final round even par 70 saw him tie for seventh at the latest tournament in Maryland, level with Fiji's Vijay Singh and the Americans Jim Furyk and Cameron Beckman and earns him almost $290 thousand.

Lee was seven shots behind the winner and world number one Tiger Woods, who pipped Hunter Hunter Mahan, by a stroke.

Meanwhile next year's New Zealand Open golf tournament will revert back to a January time slot after being shifted to March this season.
