The New Zealand Golf Open moves back to summer

12:46 pm on 6 July 2009

The New Zealand Golf Open will return to a late January start next year in an effort to avoid the freezing conditions players and fans faced at Arrowtown last time.

This year's championship was staged in mid-March but the event will be staged at The Hills on 28th to the 31st of January in 2010.

It'll again be a co-sanctioned event between the Australasian and Nationwide Tours, offering almost a million dollars in prize money and will form part of the Nationwide's down under swing, followed by the Moonah Classic near Melbourne on February 4th to 7th.
