The Sydney Roosters and Queensland rugby league forward Nate Myles says a stomach bug is to blame for a recent incident in which he defecated in a hotel corridor.
Myles has been suspended for six matches after being naked and disorientated in a Central Coast hotel on Sunday.
A statement from the NRL says Myles was found on a fire escape after defecating in the corridor.
Myles claims he accidently locked himself out of his room while looking for the toilet and had diarrhoea.
He has apologised and says he paid for the cleaning.
The NRL has fined the Roosters $62,000 because of the number of alcohol-related incidences involving the club this season.
