Wellington has beaten Wanganui 61-6 in Wanganui to retain the Ranfurly Shield.
It was Wellington's second road defence of the shield this season, following a win over Wairarapa-Bush in Masterton last week.
Wellington, without their All Blacks and Junior All Blacks, struggled early against a sprited Wanganui side. They scored just two tries as they lead 23-3 at halftime.
But in the second half Wellington ran in a further six tries, with Alipati Leuia touching down twice.
Wellington's next challenge is from Otago in an Air New Zealand Cup game in Wellington.
