'Missing' NZ ocean rowers come home second

The New Zealand rowing team 'Rowing for Prostate' who lost contact with shore 10 days ago have snatched second place in the inaugural Indian Ocean rowing race.

Against all the odds, the team completed the last few hundred nautical miles of the race after a torrid time that included losing contact due to a fault with the battery of their satellite phone.

The four-man crew and nine other boats left Western Australia on the 19th of April aiming to row a mammoth 3,132 nautical miles to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, and the New Zealanders came in over the finish line to an emotional welcome family and friends.
