Australia has the advantage after the third day of the first Ashes cricket Test in Cardiff.

The tourists lead England by 44 runs after reaching 479 for five.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting was out for 150 and Simon Katich made 122.

Rain provided a historic moment with the first ever play under lights as the officials sought to get as much play in as possible late in the day.
