Mundine challenged to re-match with Geale

Anthony Mundine has been challenged by Tasmania's government to give Daniel Geale a rematch following the International Boxing Organisation's review of their May fight.

The IBO has ordered the pair to fight again and threatened to strip Mundine of his middleweight world title unless he takes on Geale for a second time.

Mundine won a contentious split decision over Geale in May, but the IBO ordered a rematch after the Tasmanian's camp lodged a protest claiming the judges did not score a knockdown of Mundine.

The protest was denied by the IBO, but they believe Geale's performance was sufficient to make him a mandatory challenger to Mundine and ordered him to fight the Tasmanian by February the 27th 2010.

The outcome prompted Tasmanian Premier David Bartlett on Sunday to challenge Mundine to giving Geale a rematch in the latter's home town.
